Own the Morning, Win the Day

article Jul 26, 2023

Mornings are sacred.

Why?

Because in those hours (before life and work get in the way), you call the shots.

  • To get up early (or sleep in)
  • To exercise (or postpone)
  • To reflect (or forget)
  • To plan (or react)

The early bird gets the worm…the energy, the strength, the results, and the quality rest rewarded after a day well spent.

It isn't easy.

Little worth doing is.

In my freshman year of college I purposely chose classes that started at 7:50 am. Not because I was, (or am) an early bird. I did it as a forcing function. My thoughts were:

What good could come from me being awake really late at night and missing classes?

What harm could come from me completing my daily class schedule at noon with an entire day left?

What more could I start, learn, grow, improve while many of my fellow students were just starting their days?

The answer is a mixed bag, but as I reflect on it today, I recall that it enabled me to work part time at our school newspaper in the afternoons and evenings for over 2 years where I was able to:

  1. Make connections and learn skills I otherwise wouldn't…
  2. Develop real world experience to augment my classroom time (8a-12p).
  3. Create a discipline and schedule that would produce dividends over time despite the early wake up

How is your current schedule? Do you feel like you still own your business or that your business is starting to own you?

Our online course starts with a challenge:

Wake up early.

So that you control the hours that follow.

For the purpose of achieving a healthier self.

In order to maximize and provide what your business needs.

That will reward you in ways you may not see now, but will surely appreciate later.

Cheers to A Better You and A Better Business,

Hubert
